Master Artisans present Kashmir silk on silk carpets. The quality of Kashmir carpets depends on the number of knots used per square inch. Each unique Kashmir Carpet is a work of art using 576 knots to an extreme of 2500 knots per square inch (the highest number of knots known of any carpets in the world). Each masterpiece takes years to complete by masters of the weaving art. Several thousand carpets are woven annually in Kashmir but only a small fraction of high caliber art carpets are produced. You won't find our specialty carpets in every store or a shop. The “extreme high knots per square inch count” comprises an art in silk on silk rugs; unique to Kashmir only. Each Kashmir weaver dreams to create an art piece of this caliber. A creation of an art carpet; ensures its maker a degree in art -- a weaver's dream!!!
