Mirrors play an important role in a space.
While most of us will position a mirror for it’s true purpose of self admiration, most designers know how to cleverly position it to achieve maximum results.
From making the room look more expansive, to at times capturing the light and more often reflecting objects of design and details.
A wrongly positioned mirror can do everything opposite of the above.
So next time you think of installing a mirror, understand what the purpose is? What is it going to reflect? What will it highlight? The wall, the ceiling, the door, art or some less desirable piece of furniture.
Here is a perfect example of a mirror reflecting the beauty and the design details of the room. This was part of my room here in New Orleans. I chose this place after researching, over a period of few months. While attending my son’s graduation was important, I wanted to experience this magical place in it true form. Probably the only city in America that takes you back few 100 years.
Design, music and preserving history is the essence of this city.
Living life in the present moment in New Orleans means always reflecting on the past.
