Vastu Shastra dictates that the kitchen should be in the south-east part of the home as the lord of ‘Agni’ (Fire) prevails in south-east direction. The second best option for harmony at home is a north-west location. The stove should be placed in the south-east part of the kitchen for the cook to face east while cooking.
