Abby AquaCast is a simple system this composite mineral base with water and it all set to use. The system is suitable for a wide range of casting applications.
Mix Ratio:
The standard mix ratio is 35% of water. Thus, in every 100 grams of Abby Aqua Cast by weight add 35 gram of water by weight (preferably filtered or RO but tap water can be used as well). With addition of additives such as stone or lightweight fillers etc. or in extremely hot climate, a minor increase (2-3%) of water might be needed to adjust consistency but it should never exceed more than 40%.
Mixing & Casting:
To cast a solid colour, mix the pigment into the pre-weighed water, blend thoroughly and slowly add the Abby AquabCast to the liquid while mixing until it’s get smooth and free from lumps. Approx. 2-3 minutes of mixing is required to attain same.
Then slowly pour the final mix into the mold while tapping mold gently to help any air bubbles to rise to the top surface. Once done leave the mold to cure. For simple molds, demolding can be done in approx. 1-2 hours but for big or deeper molds it can take upto 5- 6 hours. It might also depend on room temperature, in summers demolding can be done sooner than in winters. Once demolded, will gain full strength in about 48 hours.
Important Note: Many times at beginning of mixing, it might appear that the mixture is hard or crumbly and need extra water. Don’t add any extra water yet and keep mixing for full suggested duration. You would be surprised to see that final texture would be much smoother and at most times won’t require any extra water. If you still feel it needs more water, add little by little and thoroughly mix before adding more.
Caution:
Keep out of reach of children. Always close lid tightly after use and store in cool and dark place away from sunlight.
