A mirror can look perfectly placed inside a room… and still be in the wrong Vastu zone. 👀
One of the most common things we hear during home consultations is: “North ya East wall par mirror toh hamesha sahi hota hai, right?”
Not necessarily.
The biggest mistake is checking the direction based only on the individual bedroom or room. In Vastu, directions are generally assessed from the centre of the entire home. That means a wall that appears to be North or East when you're standing inside a room may actually fall into a completely different zone when the complete floor plan is considered.
Let’s take a simple example.
Suppose you have two bedrooms. You decide to place one mirror on the “North wall” of Bedroom 2 and another on the “East wall” of Bedroom 1.
At first glance, both placements may seem completely fine.
But once you locate the centre of the house and map the directions properly, the first mirror could actually fall into the South-East zone, while the second could fall into the South zone.
And this is exactly why simply following a rule like “put mirrors in the North or East” can sometimes be misleading.
In Vastu, the location matters as much as the object itself.
A mirror is associated with the water element, while certain zones have different elemental associations. So before deciding where to install a large wardrobe mirror, dressing mirror, decorative mirror, or even a full-length mirror, don't just look at the room's walls.
Look at the complete home layout.
This becomes especially important when you're renovating a 2BHK or 3BHK and moving furniture, wardrobes, dressing units, or decorative elements around.
The lesson is simple:
Don't place a mirror because someone told you “North is always good.”
First understand where that wall actually falls in the overall energy map of your home.
If you're planning a new home or renovation in Siliguri, getting the directions checked before interiors are finalized can save you from making changes later.
And if you're already planning your bedroom interiors, this is one detail worth checking before the wardrobe and dressing unit are fixed.
