A commercial space specially designed not using glass facade as most of the building do.
This will help to reduce the amount of sun inside the building and creating less amount of heat generation in the building which is also used in old tradition buildings and used in green buildings.
There is no compromise on light inside the building due to the small openings created by the bricks used in facade.
To increase the thermal comfort the planters are also added, which not only looks great but provides thermal comfort and adds to the environment.
There is a rooftop garden for outdoor activities.
The material used are basic and does not add to the carbon footprint.
Colour combination are limited to 3 or 4 which also adds to the overall look.
Overall a commercial space with lots of green pockets, which is a contrast to most of the building in today's world.

Story behind planning
The house is situated in the clustered area of surajpole the inner city.the house is about 150 yrs old with layes of Bamboo roofing and mud patted well one above the other and 3" to 4"thick stone slabs thick .the whole building was constructed on area of about 1400 sqft ground and 1400 sqft on first floor so total of about 2800 sqft, the whole structure except that of
Centre hall which has not to be disturbed not to be dismantled, which was on first floor.
The building had previously 3" to 4" thick stone which were while dismantling taken down care fully.
So,the idea was to reuse the material. As an architect I gave the idea to use the same slabs to reuse as walls .The difficulty was to balance them on one above other ,so the other idea that clicked was stack them one above other and support them using 12mm MS construction bars a little away from joints of two stones which are about 3'to 4' long slabs so that the the stone balances one above other using that bars support .the upper and lower end of the bars was to be tied by bending the bars on the beam or welded to the( I girders) WHICH were also a part of old building to support the thick stone slabs and this also reduces the construction cost and defines use of old material which is reused.
Now the plaster ,the plaster was meant to be done by using chicken mesh as it provides enough friction
For the plaster to stick to the walls.

The foundation,
Another interesting aspect .the foundation cannot be dug deep due to old city chaos ( dumping of material beomes difficult) so the same old 3"to 4" thick slab which is 3'to4' long was meant to be used .

Question arises how??
The base is to be dug 2' which is stabilized using pcc 4" above which that stone 4" slab is placed on wet pcc so it levels well ,the clear gap of 1'4" remains which will be further filled with M 20 concrete mix which solves the problem of foundation.

CONCEPT behind the foundation.
[Interesting facts: a nail when hit by hammer (here hammer stands to dead and live load of building transferred to the footing) goes in the wall because pointed part is towards the wall ,if the same nail is reversed it does not enters the wall easily] the same principle is applied in these old building foundation to support 9" x 9" load bearing pillars.

The story behind the lift.
The lift Rcc shuttering must be oiled well and old polythene vegetable plastic bag crushed and stick to the shuttering in interesting pattern mostly flower shaped before casting must be sticked to the shuttering and oiled well so as when casting is done the polythene bags comes out as in form of design of flower shaped pattern combined together, also if the shuttering is oiled well the final casting comes out as a smooth finish and the expence of paint and labour is saved .

hence the story of mending reusing and reconstruction ends with positive vibes.

# TUG OF WAR BETWEEN BY-LAWS AND DESIGN RESOLUTION, the center portion with the wooden deck area is a setback according to by-laws, but the wooden deck is the solution because the temporary structure is allowed in bylaws, car park with brick shade, the entrance to the office area and the drawing-room is styled with old traditional MOLELA ART WORK , famous in MP AND RAJASTHAN, this also keeps a separate entry to the office area and drawing area. the rental unit does have a separate entry, no botheration to the landlord, central entry is SANITIZATION AREA , according to new norms, a small store at each stair landing is another additional feature, another constraint was client has two sons, so the lift and stairs are kept separate one for each for future, the rooms above are also arranged such 3 bedrooms for first son and 3 bedrooms for another son.
HENCE RESOLVED.

AN ARTIST VIEW IN ARCHITECTURE..
The bridge??? the bridge was the solution to this whole area with two hillocks on one side and the others hillocks on the other side, the realization of this made simple 1.) the reception and administration area on ground floor 2.)the open swimming pool with attaching restra, and a bar area. (kitchen also),open shower , toilets etc.on level two 3) this also provides the oppurtunitiy for the disabled as we can attch a lift to reach to the upper floors which will thus enable elderly and physically challenged to enjoy the cottages with little help. 4)the upper level third floor ifs for pool table ,table tennis, indoor games.......above that is the linking bridge. making the two ends meet... ****another interesting thing was lighthouse which was provided on top of one of the hillock which serves for the water tank which fortunately solves the multiple lifting of water on both the sides of the site......***** a design idea thus resolved.........
