Our intentions are humble. We crochet in Hope of Peace and that the vulnerable have reason to Smile. Dear Visitors,
Hello! We bring to you the story of Aimee’s and “Hope”; the first of a series of themes that we plan to introduce in times ahead. To begin, we will time-travel a few decades into the past. One of the usual days at school our little Amy’s class teacher put forwards an interesting question to her pupils.
“If you had to vacate your house in a crisis situation and you had only one thing that you could carry from your personal belongings, what would that one thing be?”

Every other student in the class came up with smart replies in trying to outwit each other – “money and match-box,” said the smartest kids; “food- biscuits, dry fruits, fruits,” said another; toys, beddings, warm clothes; “books” said the nerdy one, “pets” said the one with exceptionally high emotional coefficient. When all possible answers were exhausted, the class fool replied. “Needle”, she said in a docile and frail tone knowing that she had spoken something dumb enough for the class to burst out in laughter. At that moment there could be nothing in the world more ridiculous than wanting to carry a needle in crisis. To put things to context, Amy’s mum loved knitting and sewing as a hobby. Every vacation when they travelled to her grandparents, Amy had just one responsibility- of carrying a needle and a reel of thread in her travel bag. Therefore, much without applying any thought into the question she blabbered whatever crossed her mind first. The class laughed as the teacher said, “Our Amy will stitch her frock and shoes in crisis” and she laughed along. Back home from a rather humiliating experience, the kid rather playfully narrated the incident to her mother, but mothers understand. She noticed the depleting self-worth in her child.

“Two stones can replace a matchbox to light fire, money would not have value in crisis if there was nothing to trade for, pets were not belongings but family,
toys- one could get another at any given day, food would turn stale eventually and all the other things would be heavy to carry” mom said.
“You could make treads out of grass, build sleeping mats and tents with leaves, mend things for yourself and others. You could knit the world together with a needle, maybe you could even repair the crisis with a needle. If you have a needle, you have Hope.”

This is the story of Aimee’s, our story of Hope to Repair, a story of Hope and Repair. Today, as the world sits on an inferno, we do not desire to make any political statements or prick anyone with an intention to hurt. We crochet in Hope of Peace and Repair, and we wish as we knit that the vulnerable have reason to smile. As we conclude, we would like to extend a Thank You everyone for reading.
