Felicitated at ACETECH Expo

Being recognized at the ACETECH Expo for my contribution to the industry of Interior Design and Architecture was truly special. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to receive many honors—whether it was the gold medal in my final year of Architecture, awards from Rotary and Lions clubs, or accolades from writers’ guilds. Yet, there’s a unique joy in being celebrated within one’s own profession, a field that is not just work but a lifelong passion.

The weekend itself was a whirlwind of inspiration—invited as a delegate at the program hosted by Architect & Interior Design magazine, and being part of the Jury for the prestigious Grand Stand Awards at ACETECH Expo, an exhibition that brings together architects, builders, and interior designers. This time was extra special as I had Fiona, my daughter and a freshly graduated architect, by my side—her first glimpse into the vibrant world of our industry.

The true highlight, however, was the felicitation at the Expo—a gesture that reaffirmed my journey in this field. My heartfelt thanks to Priyanka and Swapnali at ACETECH for making this moment memorable.

THAKAR'S Bunglow:
"Designed for Life, Not Magazine Covers"

Unlike the glossy, staged interiors you often see—no clutter, no ceiling fans, fabrics draped just for the perfect shot—this home is shown exactly as it is: raw, real, and unedited, captured on a mobile camera.

It was a joy designing this bungalow for Bhuvneshbhai, Rushi & Viha Thakar and their kids. The family’s involvement, from sharing their likes/dislikes to supporting ex*****on, made the journey truly collaborative.

The house is a fully automated smart home, thanks to Rushibhai’s dedicated efforts and Netstar Home Automation. What began as a design process has become a lived‑in, vibrant space—crafted with care, authenticity, and love.

Working on Archit Orthocare was both highly technical and yet very human. Hospitals are familiar ground for Vatsal Shah Architects, but this project brought its own demands—strict fire safety norms, low heighted slabs, difficult vertical proportions, stretcher movements and spatial heirarchy from public to sterile zones. Each challenge helped us sharpen our approach and push design thinking further.

What made the process special was our clients. Their clarity of taste and choices, openness, and steady encouragement turned the work into a collaboration. Design here wasn’t imposed; it grew naturally through dialogue and alignment.

The outcome, now captured in this album, speaks for itself. The photographs are unfiltered, unedited, and honest, presenting the work as it stands: a testament to collective effort, trust, and perseverance. Every frame reflects not just the spaces, but the collective effort and energy of architects, clients, and contractors working together as a team.

Archit Orthocare is more than a hospital project. It’s a story of challenges met, relationships built, and design shaped by trust.
