Good design isn’t about demanding attention.
It’s about creating spaces that feel right.

Take a walk through Izumi, where thoughtful materials, quiet craftsmanship, and carefully considered details come together to create an experience - not just a restaurant.

In keeping with the Japanese philosophy that beauty lies in precision rather than excess, Izumi’s palette is intentionally understated. Soft greys, warm walnut timber, deep indigo, muted champagne gold and textured cement come together to create a quiet backdrop, while a hand-painted artwork introduces a singular moment of expression. Every element is considered, allowing the beauty of the space to reveal itself through its details.

Situated in Hyderabad’s vibrant Durgam Cheruvu dining district and overlooking the lake, the balcony offers a slower rhythm to the Izumi experience. Set within a building shared by several restaurants, it creates a moment of pause; where the cityscape stretches beyond the dining space and the view becomes part of the experience.

It takes more than walls and furniture to create a space. It takes countless little details.

Designed to transport you beyond the everyday, the mural, handcrafted artefacts and earthy textures seamlessly weave together art, culture, and the spirit of Burma Burma.

The journey continues outdoors, where the material palette becomes lighter and more tactile. Terrazzo-inspired flooring, generous planting and natural light soften the transition to the balcony, while the space takes on a different character as the day moves into evening. Here, the city fades into the background, replaced by a slower rhythm and an open view of the surroundings.

The bar introduces a subtle shift in atmosphere within Izumi’s understated palette. Wrapped in a champagne-gold finished ceiling and backdrop, it brings a sense of warmth to the space, while liquor bottles become part of the composition. The custom patterned veneer, punctuated by abstract brass inlays, adds a layer of quiet detail to the bar front, while floating timber ledges create intimate perches for guests and encourage casual interaction without interrupting the clean geometry of the space.

Within Izumi’s layered dining experience, the private dining room offers a quieter sense of intimacy.

Privacy here is created through layers rather than separation. Timber-framed fabric-laminated glass screens and traditional wooden shutters define the private dining room, allowing glimpses of the restaurant beyond while maintaining a sense of intimacy. Bespoke Nerikomi-inspired pendants add another layer of quiet craftsmanship above the quartz-topped table, while a hand-painted artwork brings a singular, handcrafted presence to the setting.

We love creating corners that don’t serve a purpose on paper.

They’re not treatment rooms. They’re not reception desks. They’re not where the action happens.

They’re simply places to sit, observe, and enjoy the space.
