The second concept for our Reykjavík apartment takes a darker, more dramatic turn. Swirling onyx‑like stone now wraps the island and backsplash, creating an almost landscape painting effect, anchored by rich herringbone wood floors and deep oak cabinetry. Ornate mouldings and slender brass lighting contrast with plush shearling stools, while natural light softens the palette and highlights the veining. It’s the same space reimagined with mood and depth—refined, sculptural and quietly luxurious.

Made for a client in New York.

This sideboard is crafted in rare ebony veneer, finished in a deep high-gloss surface that brings out the natural vertical movement of the wood.

The body is intentionally simple — long, clean, and restrained. Beneath it, the base becomes the sculpture: polished metal legs shaped like fluid, twisting forms, adding movement and tension to the piece.

A quiet top. A complicated base.
That contrast is what gives the sideboard its character.

A sideboard made to hold more than objects.
Green onyx, pink onyx, poplar burl — each surface with its own natural movement.

Material direction built around Verde Alpi green marble — deep, graphic and architectural.

Paired with dark American walnut, black painted panelling, oak herringbone flooring, aged brass, classical plaster mouldings, wool textures, deep green velvet, mustard velvet and quiet neutral upholstery.

Heavy stone, soft textile, dark timber, decorative plaster.

Layered, tactile, slightly moody.

A bedroom concept developed from the site itself.
We kept the room calm, but gave it weight.
Black upholstery anchors the bed.
Charcoal curtains soften the window wall.
Warm wood flooring brings balance.
A cream textured rug adds tactility.
Rust accents introduce warmth without disturbing the darker palette.
The result is a bedroom that feels contemporary, grounded, and quietly expressive.
An apartment in Reykjavík — from raw space to interior direction.

The Rose sideboard traces back to a small cabinet commission for a Dublin client.

From there, it took its own direction. That’s the nature of custom work — no repetition, no fixed outcome. Each project evolves through process, material, and instinct.

This is where we work best.

This communal kitchen concept was shaped around one defining material: hammered copper.

Used on both the island and the backsplash, it was inspired by Icelandic nature — lava, volcanic texture, geothermal heat, and the raw beauty of the landscape.

Set against dark, minimal architecture, the copper brings warmth, depth, and a strong sense of place.

The contrast was intentional: calm lines against a wild surface. Precision against nature.

More than a kitchen, this was designed as an atmosphere — something to be felt as much as used.

A communal space rooted in Iceland.

Black sand. Wind. Open horizon.

A surface that reflects everything —
sky, movement, silence.

Structured. Repeated. Intentional.

Something refined, placed in something raw.

Not to blend in.
Just to exist with it.
