MOGU

MOGU is a European company, based in Italy, developing a range of mycelium-based technologies Nature is the best architect of all.

Mogu was founded on the belief that it is possible to employ Nature’s intelligence to radically disrupt the design of everyday products, seeking a finer balance between the man-made and the rhythms of the natural ecosystem. Led by this mission, Mogu introduces on the market its first collection of groundbreaking acoustic panels. The products are the result of five years of continuous and iterative R&D on mycelium technology, guided by a strong product-driven approach. Over the years, Mogu has engineered standard protocols and systems for responsible manufacturing, by employing one of the finest technologies present in Nature, mycelium.

Exciting news!

We’re delighted to share that KANA by Mogu is a finalist for Fit Out Product of the Year at the Fit Out Awards 2026!

Launched earlier this year, KANA combines natural h**p fibres, high acoustic performance and a beautifully tactile aesthetic, offering a fresh approach to acoustic wall and ceiling design.

We’re incredibly proud to bring KANA to the Irish A&D community as Mogu’s Official Partner in Ireland and delighted to see it receive this recognition.

Congratulations to our fellow finalists and everyone shortlisted across this year’s awards!

Can flooring become architecture?

For the Reebok shop in Milan, designed by Lotto Studio, the answer is yes.

Designed by .mb the shop in Milan transforms a simple retail space into an immersive environment for gathering, storytelling and brand experiences.

Wrapped in 168 sqm of Mogu Floor Flex, the sculptural central arena becomes the heart of the project—where architecture, material and community come together.

At MOGU Research (i.e. SQIM R&D Lab), each panel starts as a living organism. Today’s glimpse follows one of the most delicate steps: transferring mycelium from a Petri dish culture into a liquid culture.

Working under a laminar flow hood, our mycologist carefully moves the mycelium into an Erlenmeyer flask – a precise, almost ritual gesture. In this new habitat, the mycelium grows into tiny pellets, ready to inoculate spawn, scale up, and eventually become the materials forming our acoustic panels.

This moment demands absolute care: sterility, gentle handling, and deep respect for our living collaborator. Small gestures, yet fundamental – they safeguard quality, continuity, and the life at the core of our materials.

Curious to see more of this living laboratory? Stay tuned – more fragments from our lab ecosystem are on their way.
