Il disegno è una promessa.

Poi entri in officina, accendi la saldatrice, e scopri che il metallo ha già delle idee sue. Si ritira. Si deforma. Decide dove piegarsi.

Ci ho messo anni a smettere di considerarlo un problema.

Le maison filmano mani che lavorano, la lentezza, la pazienza. Ma quello è artigianato raccontato, non attraversato. Il gesto si imita. Il tempo dentro il gesto no.

L’imperfezione è l’unica firma che non si falsifica.

LIGHT AS THE OLDEST GUEST

Some rooms wait centuries for the right illumination. Frescoes soften in the half-dark, stucco gods hold their poses above the cornice, a painted sky opens across the vault that no lamp had ever answered.

This project began inside that silence. Interior and lighting design carry my hand throughout, and the fixtures were chosen together with Montenero53 Lighting Solutions — all from Panzeri 1947

In the frescoed salon, Clio and Emma fall in a slow cascade of blown glass, amber and smoke and clear. Each pendant hangs like a small planet beneath the baroque heavens.

Under the glass roof, Zero Ellipse floats: discs of gold leaf catching the last blue of dusk, lifting a weathered loggia toward something close to sacred. Gong sounds the final note, pure struck metal against candlelight.

One question runs beneath it all. How do you light a place that already holds so much time? Here, with deference — each fixture bowing to what came before.

WHERE THE WATER WRITES ON THE WALLS

Como enters this house before you do. It comes as reflected light — that trembling net cast across the ceiling from the pool, moving all day like a second lake overhead.

The rooms answer with a language of their own. Boiserie of wood and metal, carved into slow undulations, a new collection drawn together with MT Luxury Wood Atelier .

Grain and burnished alloy alternate along the same wall, so the surface seems to breathe with the water it faces. Behind the bed, above the pool, the pattern repeats like a tide that never fully withdraws.

In the double-height living space, metal lifts off the wall and becomes gesture. A brass branch unfurls from the ceiling, half botanical, half constellation, realized with Artisti del Metallo ✨ .

Below it, soft curved seating gathers in the low light, and the lake keeps its steady presence beyond the glass.

The house asks how one lives inside a view this complete. Its reply is patience — surfaces that listen, and let Como finish the sentence.

ATTRAVERSARE IL VUOTO

Nel deserto la materia impara a sparire. Artisti del Metallo ✨ posa un monolite di acciaio specchiante sulla sabbia, e la parete restituisce il cielo fino a confondersi con esso. Restano i cerchi. Tre aperture bianche, sospese tra la duna e il vuoto, che di giorno custodiscono una scala verso il basso e di notte si accendono come lune costruite.

Penso a Nancy Holt e ai suoi Sun Tunnels, quei condotti puntati sulle stelle del deserto. Penso alla casa specchiata di Doug Aitken, dissolta nel paesaggio. Qui la stessa idea torna nel linguaggio dell’artigianato metallico: la lastra riflette, il cerchio invita, la soglia rimane ferma.

Il cerchio è la forma più antica della domanda. Attraversarlo vuol dire scegliere una direzione tra il sopra e il sotto, tra la luce del meriggio e il silenzio del sottosuolo.

Cosa accade quando l’architettura sceglie di ascoltare il paesaggio prima di parlare?

LO SCARTO È LA FIRMA

Per anni il design ha protetto i mediocri dietro la fatica.
Giorni per un render, mesi per un prototipo.
Quella lentezza sembrava competenza. Era solo attrito.

L’intelligenza artificiale ha cancellato l’attrito.
E all’improvviso si vede chi ha qualcosa da dire.

Non firmo l’immagine che resta.
Firmo le novecentonovantanove che butto.

Il gusto non è quello che scegli. È quello che rifiuti.

TWO STATES, ONE VIEW

Venice, from a palazzo window. The Salute rises across the water, centuries of stone worked like lace. Inside, two cabinets hold their own dialogue with that skyline.

One stays closed. A smoked oak monolith, the gold fracture running down its spine like a vein of light held in reserve. Discipline. Patience. The pleasure not yet named.

The other opens. Brass warms every bottle, rare vintages climb toward the center, crystal turns in its lit case. The rite begins.

Between the two, the whole gesture: what we keep, and what we choose to reveal.

Set here against the lagoon, the piece finds its natural register — not competing with the city, answering it. Wood becomes story again.

THE FRACTURE THAT LETS LIGHT IN

Closed, it’s a monolith. A block of smoked oak that tells you nothing but the patience of waiting. Then, down the center, a fracture: raw hammered gold, a wound someone chose not to hide.

Open, the silence turns to theater. Warm brass lights each bottle like a relic. Rare vintages rise at the center. Crystal turns inside its lit case. What was severe becomes ritual — the old gesture of pouring, sharing, celebrating.

Not a bar cabinet. A threshold between the discipline of matter and the pleasure it protects.

Designed for MT Luxury Wood Atelier , where wood stops being surface and becomes story again.

TIME, INTERRUPTED.

Faded skies still cling to these walls. Angels dissolve into the plaster. A statue keeps watch over a century that won’t return.

Into this almost liturgical ruin, something alive takes its place. Burnished brass. Antiqued mercury glass. Marble cut as a single block. Vitrines guarding fragments and small relics of a tomorrow.

Artisti del Metallo ✨ ’s surfaces ask no permission of the past. They meet it eye to eye — light rekindling what decay had dimmed, a promise set beside a memory.

A project living on the threshold, where memory and contemporary matter recognize each other without erasing one another.

A soft body, held inside a sheath of metal.

The leather curls inward, still becoming. The burnished shell keeps watch over it — half armour, half caress.

Where hide gives way to brass, the chair confesses what it is made of: tenderness that needed a hard edge to be believed.

To sit here is to sit inside a pause. A form caught between what it was and what it refuses to finish being.

Two skins for one creature — one charcoal and grieving, one warm as cured amber — because transformation never arrives in a single colour.

Designed in Milano, slowly, without apology.
