ifficult to select the most suitable material to meet their requirements, as they often receive imprecise - or worse - wrong suggestions from traders who have never had anything close to a practical first-hand experience of stone working. Thus, Mr Fruendi decided to promote the highest standards of professional practice, responsibility and ethics in the stone industry. Thousands of types of marble, granite, breccia, quartzite, quartz, travertine, traveronyx, limestone and onyx extracted from four corners of the globe are available on the market indeed, and faced by such a vast array it is easy to get confused and make costly mistakes. Therefore, to choose the best variety for a particular application a specialist advice is needed, and this is exactly the first service delivered - completely free of charge - by Mar-Pierre: we review the plans of our potential customers, undertake a feasibility study to examine different options, devise the most appropriate technical solution and frame a proposal for the supply of the material and - where necessary - its installation on site. Our staff brings together different areas of expertise, including design and technical drafting, quarrying and selection of blocks, slab and tile manufacturing process, slab and tile quality control, production of made-to-measure items (floorings and skirtings, windowsills and doorsills, stairs, wall coverings, cladding panels, wainscotings, paving slabs, bar tops, kitchen worktops, bathroom countertops, fireplaces and vanities to name but a few), stone packing up and loading into containers and trailers, and the already mentioned installation that has to be carried out by accomplished fitters who are beyond a shadow of a doubt up to the task.
