Set among the hills of Romagna, where the landscape opens towards the sea, Vistamare — the hospitality project by Rosa Fanti and Carlo Cracco — reinterprets an eighteenth-century rural estate through a contemporary dialogue between architecture, materials and design.⁠
⁠
Within this context, Mutina contributes to the spatial identity of the project through a distinctive approach to ceramic surfaces, where material research and design sensibility engage with the heritage of the place. Chamotte, designed by Patricia Urquiola, defines the walls of the dining room and the fireplace, introducing a tactile, expressive presence that interacts with the architectural context. In the bathrooms, Motivo, designed by Ronan Bouroullec, explores a more essential language of the ceramic surface, bringing formal clarity and contemporary character to the space.⁠

A project in which design is rooted in context, and the dialogue between heritage and contemporary expression gives rise to a distinctive spatial identity.⁠

Faces & Figures by Faye Toogood for Mutina is a study of the human body translated into ceramic form.⁠

Rooted in the primordial dialogue between clay and touch, each element preserves the trace of a gesture, bringing a distinctly human presence into architectural space. Eyes, Ears, Mouths, Noses and Ni***es emerge from the surface as sculptural fragments, suspended between figuration and abstraction. ⁠

Available in Chalk, with glossy and matt finishes, the five figurative elements reveal the essential nature of the material through a sculptural language that is both tactile and timeless.

As the plain tiles evolve towards a more abstract interpretation, Figure takes shape. Two organic forms interlock to create fluid, continuous surfaces, moving between figuration and abstraction. Anatomical fragments are transformed into a language of pattern, rhythm and movement, designed to shape both floors and walls.⁠

Available in a matt finish and in four colours, Figure explores the dialogue between body, matter and space.

On the occasion of the launch of its new collections, Spazio Mutina has been renewed, creating a new setting for Mutina’s ongoing exploration of ceramic as a material for architecture, design and contemporary culture.

The new exhibition brings Bricks and Editions into focus: from three-dimensional terracotta elements conceived as architectural structures to collectible ceramic objects that extend the expressive potential of the material beyond the surface.

The collection marks a new chapter in Mutina's journey, reaffirming colour as a fundamental element of its design identity. Its starting point is the company's historic colour palette: a heritage built over time from which eight shades were selected. These soft, pastel tones, inspired by the landscapes of Emilia photographed by Luigi Ghirri, evoke a suspended atmosphere shaped by light and time. ⁠
