Il surf, il kiteboard, il windsurf, sono sport basati sulle vibrazioni: quelle restituite dal mare sulla propria tavola, certo, ma anche quelle che nascono nel proprio cuore e nella propria mente quando si fa qualcosa che si ama profondamente. Dalla continua opera di ricerca ed esplorazione di spiagge, mari e componenti nasce allora la linea AV Boards, che racchiude tutta l’esperienza di uno dei shaper di riferimento a livello mondiale, a partire dai materiali. Se è vero, infatti, che i sistemi di costruzione e le soluzioni aerodinamiche di una tavola sono cambiati di poco negli ultimi 20 anni, ciò non deve togliere spazio all’innovazione. Aurelio Verdi, in questo campo, impiega materiali innovativi e tecnologie all’avanguardia come tessuti aramidici, nano carbonio, Vector e Dyneema Fiber. Accorgimenti che rendono le tavole più resistenti, leggere, vivaci e reattive, e che si avvalgono anche della scelta dei materiali migliori nel campo aerospaziale e navale. Solo così, allora, è possibile trasmettere appieno tutti i vari messaggi lanciati dal mare, le sue incertezze, i suoi cambi di direzione, ma anche il soffio del vento che disturba e disorienta, per poi dare una nuova sferzata di energia.

Bokit Foil Slalom – 2 Years of Development

Over the past two years, together with the entire AV Boards team and riders, we have explored the limits of aerodynamics in the development of the Bokit Foil Slalom. This project went through many different prototypes and extreme design directions.

The first two versions were deliberately radical:
– an initial concept with multiple cut-out configurations,
– followed by a second prototype inspired by America’s Cup hulls, featuring a fully optimized bottom shape for maximum aerodynamic efficiency in flight.

These boards taught us a lot, especially about the most critical phase in foil slalom: takeoff. While stability in the air was exceptional, continuous testing, adjustments, and even mistakes helped us understand that pure performance must be balanced with accessibility. Easy takeoff and forgiving touch-downs are just as important as top-end aerodynamics. We tested longer tails, diamond tail shapes, and countless refinements before stepping back from the most extreme concepts and progressively filling the gaps to find the right compromise.

All this development was validated on the water near our factory in Vietnam, around our home spot in Gruissan, and in Guadeloupe with our team riders pushing the limits.

After two years of testing, learning, and brainstorming, we are proud to introduce the final version of the Bokit Foil Slalom. The board is now ready for production, with the first units already on their way to Europe.

Today we’re proud to unveil the 2026 Modena Slalom range 🔥

For 2026, the Modena Slalom 98L, 108L and 118L feature completely new shapes, designed to deliver faster acceleration, improved control and smoother handling across all racing conditions.

After a full year of intensive testing in Gruissan, one of the most demanding slalom spots in France, and close collaboration with our riders Tristan Algret, Lohan Jules and Sébastien Bonhomme Allaire, we refined the perfect balance between outright speed and long-distance comfort. These shapes were also validated in choppy conditions to ensure true worldwide performance.

New for 2026, we introduce NX-Core technology — an advanced construction combining biaxial 45° carbon and glass sandwich layers. This optimized fiber orientation improves structural efficiency, reduces unnecessary weight, and delivers a lighter, more responsive and more dynamic board, with better energy transfer and control at high speed.
