molasart is creative work-shop of design and painting, was established in Milano in 2004.

Molasart combines decoratives panels and artistic elements of design for interior decoration. It was born out of an interest in colombian arts and crafts. when we discovered the molas, we were so enchanted by their colours and creative effectiveness, that we decided to collect them and introduce them

to Italy. molasart combines decoratives panels and artistic elements of design for interior decoration. we import molas directly from Panama and Colombia and select only ancient and expressive molas, which are embroidered with passion and care for our unique panels. to achieve the decorative panels we prefer antique, decorative, preciuos, innovative, tecno or just natural textile fibre. we match them to the molas and when the molas are in harmony with the cloth, it is the time to stitch a mola to the selected one. molasart would like to preserve the Kuna women's traditional activity: an art, which risks vanishing into the commercial morass and spread the molas to Europe by introducing molasart panels. the mola is crafted by the Kuna, one of the last pure populations of aboriginal South America poeple who have lived in the pre.Colombian period and refers to their visual communication. It transmits Kuna population culture's identity, but also defends them to the risks of the other dominant cultures' subjugation. molasart è arte con le molas

Maurizio Capra was an Art Director for several advertising agencies in Milan and Bogota. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence with a passion for painting, he took up his brushes again to trace and disseminate Guna art and culture, an indigenous Central American population still living between Colombia and Panama.

Travels made together with his wife Carla Brusa - an eclectically talented architect with international experience - their passion and artistic sensibility, sparked and continue to give rise to international exhibitions. The next one will open in Bogotà at the end of September: Mola Arte Sin Fronteras will be the beginning of a new journey and a continuous artistic, cultural and human passing of the baton.

As we are nearing the -2 months mark from Mola Arte Sin Frontera's opening, we thought we'd introduced you to some of the artists' work. We start with Gigi Rigamonti an Italian painter and sculpture, who contributed with this impactful piece to the composit, colourful and stimulating flair of the exhibition.

Rigamonti produces sculptures, paintings, drawings, installations and photographs. His paintings and sculptures are polyhedral: the expression of a free reconciliation of geometric rigor and creative freedom.

Born in Desio (Milan) in 1949, he lives and works in Lugano, Switzerland and San Pantaleo, Sardinia, Italy.

Gigi Rigamonti's works have been extensively shown in solo and group exhibitions around the world.
