The pretzel was made in 610 AD by an Italian monk when he decided to make a special treat to help motivate his students to keep on learning. A historic restaurant-brasserie, with a magnificent room decorated with woodwork and superb chandeliers. It offers South Tyrolean cuisine and craft beers. The waiters move between the tables in traditional dress. Taste the pork goulash with canerderli (Tyrolean quenelles), also called knödels, an essential specialty. A bit too touristy but good.
