A Masterplan for the reorganization of 38 areas located along the border of the so called 'Isola Sacra' (Sacred Island) in Fiumicino, at the estuary of the River Tiber, is a significant opportunity for the Regione Lazio (Lazio Regional Authority) to promote the valorization of a stunningly beautiful natural landscape that includes archaeological sites, sports & leisure facilities, docks & marinas and a protected area.

The ongoing project by AKA Architects is focused on enhancing the continuity of this ring of water and green areas which represents a precious source of environmental beauty.

The building complex in L’Aquila in which the major Renaissance artist Pompeo Cesura lived, damaged by the earthquake in 2009, is now the object of an ambitious renovation and restoration project, developed in intense collaboration with the Local Soprintendenza and by using highly innovative protection techniques.
