CarolaVanniniArchitecture_the blog This is an open window toward a poetic vision of life through the lens of Architecture, Photography, Design and Beauty.

‘Poetic Glance’ is a visual attempt to explore the fine line that separates human interaction with the fixed environment, both natural and man-made.

A fragment of landscape.
A weathered surface.
A piece of architecture.
A memory caught in light.

A collection of moments, gathered through the eye.

MATERIALS & PALETTE
I have always believed that materials tell a story before furniture and objects ever do. They set the mood of a space, they capture the light, they evoke emotions.

I am naturally drawn to honest materials and timeless palettes, warm woods, natural stone, soft textures and muted tones. They don’t seek attention; they simply create places that feel calm, authentic and meant to last.

For me, design begins here.

I’m delighted to share a preview of the Parioli Duplex Penthouse.

A new project where timeless materials, natural light and refined details come together to create a contemporary Roman home.

Wood and travertine.
Two materials deeply rooted in Roman tradition. One warm and alive, the other timeless and sculptural.

Together, they tell a story of balance between softness and strength, craftsmanship and simplicity, memory and contemporary living.

In Rome, materials are never just materials. They carry centuries of architecture, light and culture. Their textures age gracefully, becoming more beautiful with time.

Design begins with matter. The way it feels, the way it reflects light, the emotions it evokes.

The elegance of simplicity lies in choosing materials that don’t need to speak loudly to leave a lasting impression.

More to come soon.

As an architect, I believe the most inspiring spaces are often the ones that have grown naturally over time, shaped by people, nature, and memory.

Tuscany continues to teach me that timeless design doesn’t demand attention, it earns it.

Some places are about luxury. Others are about perspective.

The Trevi Penthouse offers both: timeless architecture, natural light, and the quiet privilege of overlooking one of Rome’s most iconic views.

Where simplicity becomes unforgettable.

When details stop being legible and turn into almost indefinite lines, something else happens: function loosens, loses its rigidity, and makes room for another kind of truth.

It is no longer about recognizing what you are looking at, but about perceiving what remains when recognition dissolves.

Function transcends.
Beauty does not describe, it illuminates.

And in that subtle boundary between order and dissolution, architecture stops explaining itself and begins simply to be.

A bathroom is more than a functional space.
