The light becomes softer, the days a little quieter, and San Quirico d’Orcia enters one of its most beautiful seasons.
Here, in the heart of the village, Manufacto brings together objects made by independent makers from Italy and Japan — ceramics, glass, wood, textiles, jewellery and everyday objects chosen to be lived with.
If you are travelling through Tuscany, come and find us.

THE MAKER — SOFFIERIA

Before becoming a vase, glass is fire.

Heat, breath and movement transform molten glass into form — each piece shaped by hand, one at a time.

These sculptural vases by Soffieria bring together the precision of traditional glassmaking and a distinctly contemporary language.
Transparent or softly coloured, their forms change constantly with light, revealing the traces of the process that created them.

At Manufacto, we are drawn to objects in which the hand of the maker is still present — objects that carry the knowledge, time and gestures behind their making.
