Lo so: in estate, con queste temperature e lavorando la porcellana a lastra, fare ciotole così grandi è una sfida enorme. Le tensioni aumentano, l'essiccazione è più difficile da controllare e il rischio di crepe è sempre dietro l'angolo.

Eppure ogni tanto ci provo comunque.

A volte va bene, a volte il risultato è questo. Fa parte del processo.

Let me tell you why I haven’t been posting much lately.

I’m working on an exhibition that is a little outside my usual comfort zone, and I’m currently alternating between moments of creative excitement and moments of cosmic emptiness and terrible self-doubt.

The exhibition will be a solo show during Argillà in Faenza on September 4–6.

For those who don’t know it, Argillà is one of the most important events dedicated to ceramic art and craftsmanship.

For three days, the city will be filled with exhibitions and a ceramic market.

My exhibition will be in a beautiful historic venue in the city center, where many people will pass through. A circumstance that does little to help my performance anxiety.

After the exhibition, I’ll have about a month to reorganize the studio, update the shop with all ready-to-ship pieces, and temporarily remove everything made to order.

Then, on October 17th, I’ll leave for Jingdezhen, China, the city considered the birthplace of porcelain and still one of the world’s most important ceramic centers.

I’ll be a guest of the Taoxichuan Art Center for an artist residency lasting until January 1st, 2027.

During my absence, the shop will remain open with ready-to-ship pieces only. Shipping will be handled by my sons and orders will continue to be sent out regularly.

If you’re thinking about custom plates, bespoke tableware, commissioned work, or even your Christmas table, now is the right time to place your order.

Until early August, I’ll be working as usual and orders can be placed through the shop with the standard production and delivery times.

Starting in September, custom orders will be accepted by email only, with delivery from mid-February 2027.

I’ll return to the studio around January 10–12, and then everything will resume as before… more or less!

The Loop collection started as a small limited series, but it was so well received that it became a permanent part of my collections.

It includes an espresso cup, a tea cup, and a large tea mug, all united by the small handle made from a thin, round coil. ☕️
