Day 8

Nam tso lake. After a 5 hours travel we reach the pass at 5200mslm: an immense valley opens up, surrounded by mountains raised like a cloth by invisible fingers. The breath is short, the air is thin. We descend between curves and hairpin bends until we reach the point of arrival. We have only 1 hour to walk to the top of a near promontory, take some photos and come back to the bus, or more easily reach the shores of the lake. We decide to leave the multitude of tourists: from up here the Chinese seem small and harmless ants .... Lago Nam Tso. Dopo 5 ore di viaggio raggiungiamo il passo a 5200mslm: un'immensa vallata si apre, circondata da montagne sollevate come teli da invisibili dita. Il fiato è corto, l'aria sottile. Scendiamo tra curve e tornanti e raggiungiamo il punto d'arrivo. Abbiamo solo 1 ora per camminare in Cina ad un vicino promontorio, scattare qualche foto e ritornare al bus, oppure più semplicemente raggiungere le sponde del lago. Decidiamo di lasciare la moltitudine di turisti: da quassù i cinesi sembrano piccole ed innocue formiche.... @ Namtso Lake

Potala Palace. 60 years ago this was the heart of the tibetan government and the winter house of the 14 Dalai Lama. Today Potala la the biggest museum in Lhasa, but you are allowed to visir only fews floors of the Red building. Songs versus photos. Tubetan people versus chinese tourists

Potala. 60 anni fa questo era il cuore del governo tibetano e dimora invernale del 14esimo Dalai Lama. Oggi il Potala è il più tra de museo di Lhasa, ma sei autorizzato a visitarne solo alcuni piani dell'edificio rosso. Canti versus fotografie. Tibetani versus turisti cinesi.

Day 5

Monastery of Lindolin. Three moncs asked me for some photos togheder: i accepted immidiatley! Whan my turn came, i asked them to go down the stairs and stood in front of an Ancient door: in that point the light was illuminating everything from the window on the left. Perfect.

Monastero di Lindolin. Tre monaci mi chiedono alcune foto insieme: acconsento immediatamente! Quando arriva il mio turno, chiedo loro di scendere le scale, e di posare davanti ad un vecchio portone: in quel punto esatto la luce illuminava qualsiasi cosa dalla finestra posta a sinistra. Perfetto.

Red like blood, orange like sunset, White rice and fruit Yesterday was naga day, in Honor of the snake-godness.

Rosso come il sangue, arancione come l'alba, riso bianco e frutta. Ieri si è svolta la giornata di naga, in onore la divinità serpente.
