For Il cielo in una stanza at Villa Medici - Villa Médicis, Incalmi collaborated with Zanellato/Bortotto in the development of the elements that define the identity of the space, transforming materials and surfaces into narrative devices.
Enameled copper enters into dialogue with travertine, while natural light moves across the surfaces, revealing their depth and nuances. Colours and reflections echo the Roman landscape surrounding Villa Medici.

From lighting elements to architectural details, every intervention contributes to the construction of a cohesive narrative. Incalmi designed and produced the custom Specola lamps, as well as the kitchen hooks and k***s. The company also crafted the tabletops for the coffee tables designed by Moroso and contributed to the development of the technical solutions for the staircase and balustrade, supporting the project through to its final ex*****on.

Each piece helps establish a continuity between interior and exterior, architecture and nature, translating the design language conceived for the room into space.
A project in which form and matter are not mere decoration, but an integral part of the narrative.

When enchantment emerges through encounter.

As part of Re-enchanting Villa Medici, the programme that brings together contemporary design, craftsmanship, and historical heritage, Incalmi was selected as the artisanal partner for Il cielo in una stanza, a project by Zanellato/Bortotto.

Inspired by a walk through the streets of Rome, the project translates some of the city’s most distinctive elements into space: travertine, the green of maritime pines, and the blue of the Roman sky.

A research-driven exploration of materials, colours, and surfaces, creating continuity between interior and exterior, memory and contemporaneity.

One year after its opening, Il cielo in una stanza continues to tell the story of the encounters that made it possible.

At L’Appartamento by Artemest, among the most observed contexts of Milano Design Week, Specola Plates - designed for Incalmi by Zanellato/Bortotto - have defined a quiet, continuous presence.

Seventy-two wall-mounted elements form a visual sequence that moves through the space, redefining its perception.
Within the concept designed by Rockwell Group, the project operates as a narrative device: matter and form engage in dialogue without ever asserting dominance, activating a calibrated balance between function and representation.

At Superstudio Maxi, within the When Design Becomes Art exhibition, Galateo Ancestrale takes shape from Incalmi’s research on Caterina Roppo’s textiles, exploring the relationship between material metamorphosis and memory.

A year of experimentation leads the textiles into a new condition, transforming them into permanent structures through metallization and copper deposition. The works - Prana, Savasana, Ayama - do not occupy space: they modulate it, slow it down, and make it perceptible.

Matter emerges as an active element, capable of shaping relationships between physical and perceptual dimensions.

Within Studiopepe’s former Milan headquarters, The Intimacy takes shape as a perceptual condition rather than a physical space. A domestic dimension, accessible by appointment and conceived to evolve beyond the Salone into an active platform - between apartment and gallery - open to visitors throughout the year.

In this suspended context, Incalmi presented Stilla Collection, designed by Studiopepe. and now part of the Incalmi collection. A system of relational objects - handles, k***s, hooks, vases, trays and boxes - where surfaces emerge through stratification and color is built over time and through heat.

Enameled copper defines objects conceived as relational devices. It does not simply clad - it becomes language, generating depth, variation and vibration.

Developed in collaboration with Sophie Lou Jacobsen, these pieces explore the expressive potential of enameled copper - a material rooted in Italian design history, now reactivated through contemporary research.
A process shaped by layering, heat, and time, where color emerges through stratification and surface becomes a field of variation.

From experimentation to form, matter reveals its depth - holding gesture, transformation, and trace.

Dyani White Hawk, multidisciplinary artist with Sičangu Lakota and European ancestry, has recently presented Infinite We, an enamel on copper sculpture based on the abstract Lakota symbol of kapémni, published by Beyer Projects and manufactured by Incalmi.

First presented in the major solo exhibition Dyani White Hawk: Love Language at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and later featured in The New York Times, the sculpture beautifully embodies the encounter between the artist and Incalmi, where cultural exchange is built through hand-making and material knowledge.
