In the mid-1960s, architect Mies van der Rohe, former director of the Bauhaus, was given virtually a free hand to create Toronto-Dominion Centree, a prominent complex of office towers. Known for its bronze-tinted glass and black-painted steel, this minimalist design is a prime example of Mies' vision of International Style architecture.
