STILL IN STOCK: Prayer Plants! 🙏🏾🧎🏽‍♀️
The Calathea plant or as it’s commonly called, “Prayer Plant” got its name because their leaves curl up each night, almost like they’re praying.

When it gets dark in the evening, the leaves of the plant start to move around and raise themselves up. Then they fold themselves shut, just like praying hands.

They’re easy to grow but has specific needs on where it needs to be placed in your home.
Here are a couple tips:

•The plant is generally tolerant of lower light areas. Place near a window where it will receive indirect sunlight.

•Placing in direct sunlight will scorch the plant’s leaves and result in blotches or patches and fade in color intensity.
They make great gifts and are a wonderful reminder to take a moment and think about what you are grateful for today.

Early detection can save a life.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re encouraging everyone to learn the signs, understand their individual risk and make breast health a priority.

• A new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm
• Changes in the size or shape of the breast
• Dimpling, redness or other unusual skin changes
• Changes to the ni**le or unexpected discharge

Noticing a change doesn’t always mean cancer, but it’s important to speak with a healthcare professional about anything unusual. Regular screening, based on your age and individual risk, can also play an important role in detecting breast cancer early.

Throughout October, let’s continue to raise awareness, support those affected and encourage the women in our lives to prioritize their breast health.

Prostate cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Jamaican men, accounting for 38.5% of new cancer cases among Jamaican men in 2024.

As we begin a new month, we’re taking a moment to shine a light on men’s health—encouraging more conversations, greater awareness, and action when it comes to prostate cancer.

Because education leads to awareness, and awareness leads to action. Know your risk. Get informed. Get checked. And encourage the men in your life to do the same.

If you or someone you know is facing prostate cancer, you are not alone. 💙
