It's a bit too close up, making it hard to tell what I photographed, but this is a corner dedicated to picture frames.
I made this frame to frame a realistic oil painting (F6 size).
I create each frame individually, tailoring it to the artwork being placed inside. It's like bespoke tailoring.
I was surprised to learn that even the method of selecting pre-painted, rod-shaped frame materials (molding) and assembling them to a desired size is now being called "custom made"
While the work is still done after receiving an order, I think it's wrong to disregard the difference between manufacturing and production.
クローズアップし過ぎで、何を撮ったのか分かりにくいですが額縁のコーナーです。
F6号の写実油彩画を額装するために制作しました。
納める絵画作品に合わせて、一点一点額装案をたてる作り方をしています。テーラーで言うところのビスポークです。
モールディングという、予め塗装を施した棹状の額縁材をセレクトし、任意のサイズに組むだけの方式までもを最近はオーダーメイドと呼んでいるのですね、驚きました。
受注後に作業する事にかわりはありませんが、製造と制作の違いを蔑ろにするのは如何なものかと。。
