日田杉とウォールナットの天然色を活かして作られたエリアスオリジナル商品「椎茸マラカス」に新色が加わりました。この新色は日田杉とブラックチェリーを組み合わせています。椎茸というかぶなしめじ？
A new color variation has been added to the "Shiitake Maracas"—an original Elias product crafted to showcase the natural hues of Hita cedar and walnut. This new version combines Hita cedar with black cherry wood. Is it a shiitake mushroom, or perhaps a buna-shimeji?

「まめやど」完成に至るまでの旧家の改装を紹介します。豆田町は歴史ある町と改めて感じさせられた「襖」についてご紹介します。表装紙の下か出てきた過去の紙は歴史を知ることができる資料でした。

This article introduces the renovation of an old house leading up to the completion of “Mameyado.” I’d like to introduce you to the “fusuma” (sliding doors) that made me realize once again that Mameda-machi is a town with a rich history. The old mounting paper that was found beneath the new mounting paper was a valuable document that allowed us to learn about the town’s history.

「まめやど」完成に至るまでの旧家の改装を紹介します。まめやどの２階にあるリビングの一つです。この部屋は増築を2度行ったようです。２つの部屋に分かれていましたが一つの部屋にして天井板を外し開放感のある部屋にすることができました。

This section introduces the renovation of the old house that led to the completion of "Mameyado." This is one of the living rooms on the second floor of Mameyado. It seems that this room was extended twice. It was originally divided into two rooms, but they combined it into one room and removed the ceiling panels to create a more open and spacious feel.

まめやど改装「2階西リビング編」です。
元々明治時代に建てられた蔵の二階なので天井が低いですが立派な曲松の梁が屋根を支えています。屋根裏のようなこの部屋は、まめやどで最も落ち着くことができる場所です。

This is the “2nd Floor West Living Room” section of the Mameyado renovation.
Originally, this was the second floor of a storehouse built during the Meiji era, so the ceiling is low, but magnificent curved pine beams support the roof. This room, which resembles an attic, is the most relaxing place in Mameyado.

まめやど改装「バストイレ編」です。豆田町には数十年前まで公共の銭湯が存在していた影響もあるのか小さなお風呂を所有する家が多かったようです。この旧家も同じような条件下でしたが脱衣場を確保するため浴室とトイレのレイアウトを変えることにしました。
This is the "bathroom and toilet" section of the Mameyado renovation. Perhaps due to the influence of the public bathhouse that existed in Mameda-machi until several decades ago, many houses in the area had small bathrooms. This old house was in a similar situation, but we decided to change the layout of the bathroom and toilet in order to make room for a changing area.

まめやど改装「居間編」です。写真を見返すことで改装した当時の記憶が戻ってくるのですが居間の改装写真を見ると2017年に起きた豪雨被害の記憶も戻ってきました。
This is the “Living Room Edition” of the Mameyado renovation. Looking back at the photos brings back memories of when the renovation was being done, but looking back at the photos of the living room renovation also brought back memories of the heavy rain damage that occurred in 2017.

メゾン出展から約３か月が経ちました。出展がスタートであり継続と発展が目標です。予定より少し遅くなりましたが注文頂いた商品をフランスに向けて出荷します。日田杉の家具や雑貨、小鹿田焼、下駄、竹の箸。日田を代表する特産物ばかりです。これからも日田のものづくりの価値を知ってもらえるように継続していかなくてはなりません。今回の出展をきっかけにインターンシップや工場見学の依頼を受けるなど出展効果が出ています。出展できたのは沢山の方々に協力して頂いたおかげです。この場を借りてお礼申し上げます。
ご要望を受けていた墨下駄のSサイズが完成しましたのでこの場を借りてご紹介します。

It's been about three months since we exhibited at the Maison exhibition. The exhibition was just the beginning, and our goal is to continue and develop. Although it's a little later than planned, we are shipping the ordered products to France. Furniture and goods made from Hita cedar, Onta pottery, geta sandals, bamboo chopsticks—all representative local products of Hita. We must continue our efforts to ensure that people understand the value of Hita's craftsmanship going forward. This exhibition has had a positive effect, as we have received requests for internships and factory tours. We were able to exhibit thanks to the cooperation of many people, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.
I'm pleased to announce that the S-size version of the Sumi Geta sandals, which you requested, is now complete.

日田のものづくりを世界へ！MAISON & OBJET Paris 2026 (January)

ついにメゾンエオブジェがスタートしました。世界中から集まった出展企業の中に私たちの町「日田市」の紹介や日田のものづくりを伝えるブースを仲間入りすることが出来ました。これがスタートラインです。出展に至るまで支えて頂いた方々に良い報告ができるよう頑張ってまいります。
Maison & Objet has finally opened. We were able to join the exhibitors from all over the world in opening a booth introducing our town, Hita City, and Hita's manufacturing. This is the starting line. We will do our best to give a good report to those who supported us until we were able to exhibit.
Maison & Objet a enfin ouvert ses portes. Nous avons eu le plaisir de rejoindre les exposants du monde entier avec un stand présentant notre ville, Hita, et son artisanat. Ce n'est qu'un début. Nous mettrons tout en œuvre pour offrir un compte rendu positif à tous ceux qui nous ont soutenus jusqu'à ce que nous puissions exposer.

展示会間近となりました。日田は九州一の生産量を誇るソファ産地です。その誇りと培われた技術を活かしソファの新たな未来を提案する存在であり続けなくてはなりません。この度世界初？のソファを出展します。体だけではなく心も同時にサポートするソファとして開発された「HAORI」は、株式会社アサヒのソファとこたつ布団を製造する技術を応用して開発されました。
The exhibition is fast approaching. Hita is Kyushu's largest sofa production area. We must continue to utilize this pride and cultivated technology to propose a new future for sofas. We will be exhibiting the world's first sofa. "HAORI" was developed as a sofa that supports not only the body but also the mind. It was developed by applying the sofa and kotatsu futon manufacturing technology of Asahi Co., Ltd.
L'exposition approche à grands pas. Hita est la plus grande zone de production de canapés de Kyushu. Nous devons continuer à mettre à profit cette fierté et notre savoir-faire pour proposer un nouvel avenir au canapé. Nous exposerons le premier canapé au monde. « HAORI » a été conçu pour soutenir à la fois le corps et l'esprit. Il a été développé grâce à l'application des technologies de fabrication de canapés et de futons kotatsu d'Asahi Co., Ltd.
