This exhibit has been going since July, so you’d think there might not be so many people. Wrong! When I got here, the lineup was still within the building, but currently it’s winding outside and probably only growing.

Anyway, lots of neat stuff to see, including storyboard art, the original drawings (ON paper) that were used for Nakayoshi covers, costumes used in the musicals, etc. Some areas don’t allow photos/video, but it’s not a big deal.

I can sh*t-talk this series to hell and back, but ultimately I don’t dislike it since it was a big part of my childhood.

Went to Design Festa today for the first time, and it was MASSIVE. Featuring 5500 booths and over 15,000 artists, this easily dwarfed any con or art/craft fair I’ve ever been to. It’s for original art only, and includes illustrations, photos, clothing, jewelry, decor, accessories, lamps, stickers, stationery, etc.

Unfortunately, the place didn’t allow filming video/live-streaming, and many booths didn’t even allow photos, so I couldn’t capture much. Although no amount of photos can do this place justice. If you have any interest in art/crafts, I recommend checking it out at least once!

is now over! And it was a hell of a time and great experience as my first out-of-town con. A few unpleasantries along the way (like having to call in a noise complaint with police for some guy in an alley banging on windows), but the key ones were honestly my fault. Not enough planning, which resulted in not enough time, etc. Going to keep things positive, though! I did get to talk to some cool people, and hopefully I’ll see them again soon.

No more cons for this year; the next one will be at Fan Expo Vancouver. In the meantime, gonna down one of these immunity boosters and get some rest.
