A collection of gin, held in light.

“GIN BOX” is a display for gin inside Cocktailworks Jimbocho. Thick transparent panels catch the light, creating reflections and shadows around the bottles. As you move, the collection takes on a different expression.

A display that invites you to look closer at the many characters of gin.

The Japanese text follows below.

A playful touch to a line of light.

Created before our transition to LED lighting, “STICK” combines the slender glow of a slim fluorescent tube with circular forms and a cord wound around them. Different heights and colours create a rhythm of light.

In the early days of SOL style, we had an idea and a place to exhibit it, but did not know how to bring it to life. We reached out by email and phone to ask for help with fabrication.

Yamato generously agreed to help. Using their expertise in 3D machining of resin, they brought our idea to life with remarkable quality.

From an idea to a piece ready to exhibit.
A valued company that supported our work from the very beginning.

The Japanese text follows below.

SOL style

Craft at the heart of the storefront.

At Asakusa Amezaiku Ameshin’s Tokyo Solamachi shop, cedar boards surround the displays, while openwork concrete blocks frame the demonstration counter. Red fabric and a sign made from a repurposed koto—a traditional Japanese stringed instrument—give the shop a distinct presence along the passage.

A place to discover the finished candy artworks and watch them take shape. Both experiences come together in this space.

Completed in 2015

The Japanese text follows below.

A little room for play in the workplace.

At “puff office design,” a green floor and colorful chairs make the gathering area bright and open.

Office spaces sit on either side of the blue-trimmed arches made of wood wool cement board. The textured walls give each area its own character while gently connecting the spaces.

The Japanese text follows below.

An 80-year-old wooden house, given a new life as Yoshikawa, a Japanese restaurant.

The original fittings and walls remain, joined by woven washi wallpaper and warm lighting.

The texture of wood, the craftsmanship of the fittings, and the closeness of the seats around the counter. A space to enjoy a leisurely meal while sensing the years layered within it.

The Japanese text follows below.

BENFIELD ELECTRIC JAPAN OFFICE

A place that makes coming together worthwhile.

As ways of working change, the office can give people a reason to meet in person. Flowing shared desks offer room to choose where to work each day.

Upstairs, a generous table anchors the meeting lounge. Translucent organza softens the boundary around it, while lighting changes the atmosphere for different gatherings.

Space for individual work, and space for conversation.

The Japanese text follows below.

KIBAN LIGHT SERIES

A thin circuit board becomes a source of light.

In this lighting series, the printed circuit board forms the shade, while its copper traces carry the electricity. A slender structure brings a warm pool of light to the tabletop.

A small change in how a familiar material is used opens up a new form for everyday lighting.

Blau espresso

A quiet pause beneath the railway.

At Blau espresso, a café in Ayase, the powerful columns supporting the railway above become a defining feature of the interior.

Natural light through generous windows.
The warmth of wood and hanging greenery.
Structure and materials come together to create a place to slow down and feel at ease.

From the openness of daytime to the intimacy of evening lighting, the same space takes on an entirely different character as the hours pass.

The Japanese text follows below.

FLOATING ENGINE

What would invisible thrust look like?

For Yoshimasu Seisakusho, SOL style brought together actual engine parts, transparent acrylic and fluorescent lines to reveal the structure within.

Suspended in space, the engine casts intricate shadows—turning precision engineering into a spatial experience.

The Japanese text follows below.

DESIGN = FIND
