It's hard to believe we've already reached the final day.

Although this is our first time exhibiting at Shoppe Object, we were delighted and truly surprised to meet so many people who already use and love Suzugami.

This exhibition would not have been possible without the wonderful support of the REAL JAPAN PROJECT team and our fellow exhibitors from Takaoka, Toyama, Japan.

SHOPPE OBJECT NEW YORK

We are pleased to exhibit at SHOPPE OBJECT NEW YORK.

Founded in 1909 in Takaoka, Japan, Syouryu has preserved the traditional art of handcrafted ORIN through the time-honored technique of tankin (hammering). Each ORIN is individually shaped by skilled artisans, giving every piece its own unique character. Its clear, resonant tone is carefully refined through a tuning technique passed down from master to apprentice, bringing a sense of calm and mindfulness.

Syouryu also continues to explore new expressions of Japanese metal craftsmanship through Suzugami, a flexible tin tableware created using the same hammering techniques.

We invite you to experience the clear sound of ORIN and the versatility of Suzugami at our booth. We look forward to meeting you.

I have safely returned to Japan after our lecture, demonstration, and meditation session with Yuki at The Japan Foundation, Los Angeles.

I was truly happy to see so many people take an interest in the Japanese orin.

During the event, I spoke about the history of the orin, the story of Takaoka, and the process of crafting my hand-hammered orin. We also shared time listening to and experiencing the sound of the orin together.

Thank you very much to everyone who joined us.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Japan Foundation LA, and to Yuki.
