Because leather jackets are made from heavy materials, storing them on a thin wire hanger is not the best choice for preserving their shape. While the damage may not be noticeable immediately, prolonged use can create unwanted shoulder bumps and distort the jacket's silhouette—marks that are often difficult, if not impossible, to restore.

The collection began with a chance discovery of an antique British tailor’s hanger. Since then, Mr. Amano has built a collection of over 300 hangers from the early 20th century, part of which is now entrusted to us.

Many pieces feature unknown forms and fittings that require deeper study of 19th–20th century tailoring history.
