Our Story
Necessity has inspired many an idea. We came into woodwork partly by “accident” and partly by necessity. As man without work is just ridiculous! A man needed a job and came by an old man’s carpentry shop through a string of “accidents” that turned out to be one of the greatest blessings of his life.
In June 2013, while searching for paper-pushing like jobs, I wound up in a wood workshop taking a friend to get some furniture. Having to wait to get some finishing done, I picked up a no. 5 Jack plane. And tried to work some piece of waste timber. I had the rarest feeling of being where I wanted to be. I marvelled at what this tool could do. And the piece of waste turned into something beautiful with every shave. Ah, this was so cool! I didn’t know it then, but I had just found one of my loves.
Days turned into months into years as a passion for building wooden things grew stronger. Finesse in crafts comes with practise and woodworking is no different. By and by my work became better. And once in a while I would surprise myself. Part of how I knew this was for me was that I never really got bored of it. I kept wanting to build furniture, looking at how to improve my craft. And a day is never wasted that is spent making something at the workshop.
Since then I have developed a philosophy for my woodwork: beautiful furniture that has been creatively designed and extraodinarily built to meet clients' needs at the home, office or other.
