October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month π
To every mother, sister and daughter who makes a house a home: this month is for you.
Breast cancer found early is far more treatable, yet too many women in Kenya are diagnosed late. That's why checking matters.
Early detection saves lives.
β
Check your breasts monthly. Know what's normal for you.
β
Get a clinical breast exam every year. It's the main screening tool at most public facilities.
β
Ask your doctor which imaging suits you. Ultrasound is often used for younger women, and mammograms are usually advised from age 40, or earlier with family history.
π©ββοΈ Thank you to the oncologists, surgeons, radiologists and nurses who care for women every day.
π©Ί Tag a doctor or nurse who has cared for you or your family, and tell us why they matter. Let's show them some appreciation this month. π
