يعتبر هذا النوع مثيرًا للاهتمام في وجود أوراق شبه أسطوانية بدلاً من أوراق على شكل شريط ناتج عن فشل في التعبير عن الجينات مما يتسبب في تمايز البرعم الأسطواني بشكل ظهري مركزي أو إنتاج سطح علوي وسفلي مميز ومألوف لشفرة الورقة. الزهور الأنبوبية ذات اللون الأبيض المخضر بطول 3 سم (1 بوصة) مشوبة باللون الوردي
هذا النوع يتحمل الجفاف وفي الزراعة يتطلب الماء مرة واحدة فقط كل أسبوعين خلال موسم النمو. يمكن ري الأنواع مرة واحدة في الشهر خلال أشهر الشتاء.
