Fiber optics are not used because they look different.
They are used when the design needs light to appear in one place, while the source stays somewhere else.
This makes them useful for details where a traditional luminaire may not be the best fit: star ceilings, pinpoints of light, pool edges, curved lines, landscape details, or hard-to-access areas where maintenance needs to stay practical.
In lighting design, the question is not only what effect we want to create.
It is also where the light source should be, how it can be maintained, and whether the detail truly calls for fiber optics. 💡
لا تُستخدم الألياف الضوئية فقط لأنها تبدو مختلفة.
بل تُستخدم عندما يحتاج التصميم إلى ظهور الضوء في مكان معيّن، بينما يبقى مصدر الضوء في مكان آخر.
وهذا يجعلها مناسبة للتفاصيل التي قد لا تكون وحدة الإنارة التقليدية الخيار الأفضل لها: مثل الأسقف النجمية، ونقاط الضوء الصغيرة، وحواف المسابح، والخطوط المنحنية، وتفاصيل اللاندسكيب، أو الأماكن التي يصعب الوصول إليها وتحتاج إلى صيانة أكثر عملية.
في تصميم الإضاءة، لا يكون السؤال فقط عن التأثير الذي نريد خلقه.
بل أيضًا عن مكان مصدر الضوء، وكيفية صيانته، وما إذا كان التفصيل يحتاج فعلًا إلى الألياف الضوئية. 💡
