Gray slender loris (Loris lydekkerianus)

The Grey Slender Loris (Loris lydekkerianus) is a small, nocturnal primate found in both India and Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, it occurs mainly in dry‑zone and hill‑zone forests, with two recognized subspecies: the Northern Ceylonese slender loris (L. l. nordicus) and the Highland slender loris (L. l. grandis).

Size and look: About chipmunk‑sized (roughly 6–10 in / 15–25 cm body length), with very long, thin limbs, large round eyes, and grey‑brown fur; dark rings around the eyes and a pale bridge on the nose are typical. Arboreal and slow‑moving, traveling carefully along branches, often on top of them.
