Do real diamonds reflect color?
Hold it in the light to see how it sparkles. ilovebutter/Flickr The way that diamonds reflect light is unique: Inside the stone, the diamond will sparkle gray and white (known as “brilliance”) while outside of the gem, it will reflect rainbow colors onto surfaces (this dispersed light is known as “fire”).Jan 16, 2015
What color should a diamond be under UV light?
blue
When a diamond is exposed to ultraviolet light (also known as blacklight), it glows blue. Sometimes you might see another color too like yellow, green, red & white, but blue is the most common fluorescent color in a diamond.

The featured item represents a porcelain plate or charger that measures approximately 15" in diameter, almost 3" tall and 7 1/4" in diameter at the foot rim. It weights about 4 pounds 10 ounces.
The plate bears the initials VOC at the face and the raised number "1790" at the bottom. They are painted in under glaze cobalt blue. VOC stands in Dutch for Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie or United East India Company. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Japanese porcelain was popular in Europe for its whiteness and unique designs. The Dutch East India Company submitted orders to Japanese potters for porcelain that suited European tastes.
