Seaside Drums are high quality, solid wood, handcrafted stave drums. The drums are made by a professional carpenter and drummer, Krišjānis Kupcāns. In 1998 he graduated Riga Centre Primary School of Applied Arts (Rīgas Centra Daiļamatniecības pamatskola) and in 2002 Krišjānis graduated Rīga Pārdaugava Professional Secondary School (Rīgas Pārdaugavas profesionālā vidusskola). Since then he has been

manifacturing stave drum shells and segmented wood hoops. Wood cannot be substituted with any other material, including plywood – that is used in 99% of other manufacturer drumsets. Drums, which are manufactured from plywood, do not have a qualitative sound as they are subordinate to mass production. Wood has enhanced acoustic resonance and a vast range of tones based on the age and type of wood the client chooses for his drumset, snare or wood hoops.
