Over the past 25 years, he's been going to unexpected places, learning and experimenting from tribe to tribe, and finding beautiful stories and legends of the past embedded into traditional arts and crafts. It is his purpose to highlight these stories to the world and ensure they are passed on into the future. During Habib’s travels across various Moroccan Berber villages to find and obtain these
collectibles, he found that the market for Moroccan handicrafts was far from streamlined. It was an arduous task not just to find genuine pieces, but also to connect to authentic artisans. Every time he came across an original, work of art, he started extensive research into each piece, talking to experts, collectors and chief artisans. As a result of his efforts to understand each creation through the stories and art forms behind it, arose a determination to build a comprehensive archive of designs from history. There’s an inspiring collection of vintage art and craft forms supporting each of the pieces and stories that we curate, out of which many are either extinct or slowly fading away. We've made it our mission to preserve and protect these rare traditions and convey them to newer generations in a relevant new form, giving the crafts more popularity, and the craftsmen, a better life. Given the sheer scale and number of the regions where these arts and crafts hail from, it is nearly impossible to find such a diverse vintage collection in a single place. With Berber Tribal Art, we've decided to use technology to bridge this gap, and bring this treasure-house to the comfort of your home - a place where these antique stories will hopefully build a whole new legacy.
