This year 2025 marks the 1800th of the birth of St Lawrence in 225. As a Birgu based studio where St Lawrences is the patron saint of this city I took the inspiration of this episode to do this new work of art in papier mache.
Here St Lawrence is at a very young age stepping towards the gridiron and grabbing it. Compliment in the gridiron is the palm branch and a crown, symbolizing his martyrdom and heavenly reward.
