A week after Salone del Mobile…

Now that I’ve had time to breathe and reflect, I’ve attended Salone many times, and I clearly remember when it was truly for designers. For people from the industry. For work, discovery, and dialogue.

Today, it often feels more like an influencer theatre. Endless queues just to see one installation, 4 hours or more if you don’t have VIP access. Content over substance.

I genuinely enjoyed two days of it, but only because I knew exactly where to go, which very specific studios to visit, and thanks to guest lists and VIP access.

Honestly, I wish Salone would return to being strictly professional.
A place where people from the industry can actually work, not spend half the day navigating crowds of Instagram tourists with no understanding of interior design.

Salone should inspire design.
Not just document it.
