When I was a girl I used to move around a lot with my family, living in many places and always taking with me the excitement of painting everything that crossed my path: rocks, leaves and even cans. When I was 9 years old, I received from my mother the most important Christmas gift: a wooden box that contained a set of acrylic paint, fine brushes and blank sheets of paper. This was the most precio
us gift that allowed to define my passion. Fifteen year later, I got my college degree from the School of Visual Arts in the city of Rosario. In Bariloche, Patagonia, I started consolidating my artistic style. I focused on pottery and used an indigenous technique of Engobe, which involved the mixture of clay and different oxides for color. The designs that decorated these unique pieces were characterized for having country themes expressed with a naïve style. With much success, I was able to export to Australia and Europe. Upon my arrival to Mexico, my first stop was the city of Guanajuato and I was astonished by the colorful houses on the hills, the joy of the people and the natural scenery. Each morning I was visited by hummingbirds while I painted, as well as other birds that I had never seen before. Since then, I started to incorporate them into my artwork in pottery and later I developed my own birds: the “hairy birds” were born. After witnessing that my designs were a great success, I decided to expand with a new project. I was able to print my hand-painted designs onto textile, which led to the creation of my first line of designer purses. I am currently living in San Miguel de Allende in the state of Guanajuato. Nací en el Norte Argentino, en la provincia de Salta. Desde niña he vivido en diferentes lugares, y siempre con el espíritu de pintar lo que encontraba a mi paso, como piedras, hojas secas y hasta latas. A los 9 años recibí mi primer gran regalo de navidad de mi madre: una caja de madera con acrílicos, pinceles y hojas en blanco para comenzar a crear. Fue mi regalo más valioso y que definió mi pasión. Quince años después, me titulé de la Escuela de Artes Visuales, en la ciudad de Rosario. En Bariloche, la Patagonia, comencé a consolidar mi estilo. Me enfoque en la cerámica utilizando la técnica indígena llamada Engobe, cual involucra una mezcla de arcilla y óxidos para el color. Los diseños que decoraban estas piezas únicas se caracterizaban con temas campestres expresados con un estilo naïve. Con mucho éxito exporte a Australia y a Europa. Al llegar a México, mi primera parada fue Guanajuato Capital, y quede impactada al ver el colorido de sus casitas sobre los cerros, la alegría de la gente y su naturaleza. Cada mañana los colibríes me visitaban mientras pintaba, junto con otros pájaros que jamás había visto. Desde entonces, comencé a incorporarlos a mis dibujos en cerámica, hasta crear mis propios pájaros: nacieron los “pájaros peludos”. Al ver que mis diseños tenían mucho éxito, decidí expandir con un nuevo proyecto. Logre imprimir mis diseños pintados a mano sobre tela, cual llevo a la creación de mi primera línea de bolsas para mujer. Actualmente vivo en San Miguel de Allende, en el estado de Guanajuato.
