Poolside lounging, the Palm Springs way 🌴☀️

Designed for long afternoons by the pool, these custom loungers bring together the relaxed spirit of Palm Springs with a playful California palette.

Soft, textured upholstery meets pops of sunny yellow and blush pink, creating a space that feels effortlessly retro, colorful, and inviting. The striped pillows add just the right touch of graphic pattern, while the little pink side tables keep everything fun and unexpected.

A place to slow down, soak up the desert sun, and stay awhile.

Finally back to sunny San Diego.
After days of wandering through Copenhagen, museums, art, architecture, and Scandinavian skies, there’s something so comforting about coming home to California light.

Back to sunshine, warm evenings, ocean air, and that effortless San Diego feeling.

And maybe, after all that inspiration, home feels a little more beautiful than ever.

There are places where the architecture is simply a backdrop. And then there are places where the architecture becomes the experience.

Perched inside the tower of Christiansborg Palace, Restaurant Tårnet feels like a beautiful secret suspended above Copenhagen.

What makes it so special is its history. The restaurant occupies what was once a forgotten storage room in the tower — an enormous, raw space with almost 11-meter-high ceilings, monumental walls and traces of the building’s past woven into the design. Old sculptures, architectural models and nearly 200-year-old lion figures remain part of the room, creating an extraordinary dialogue between history and contemporary Danish design.

I especially loved the restraint of the intervention: rather than competing with the architecture, the design allows the original structure to speak. The custom benches nestle into the massive niches, the sculptural staircase emphasizes the extraordinary height, and the octagonal central bench becomes almost an architectural object within the room.

And then there is the view.

Through the enormous window, Copenhagen unfolds below — rooftops, towers, the inner courtyard of Christiansborg and the riding grounds. From 44 meters above the city, everything suddenly feels graphic, quiet and beautifully composed.

For me, Tårnet is a wonderful example of something I deeply admire in Danish design: the ability to respect history without becoming nostalgic, and to create something contemporary without erasing what came before.

YES that is me; in a James Turrell installation at ARoS, Aarhus

Stepping into James Turrell’s world at ARoS is like stepping out of reality and into light itself.

Turrell transforms space into an experience—where color has no fixed form, walls seem to disappear, and light becomes something almost tangible. His work asks us to slow down and simply look… to become aware of perception, atmosphere, and the quiet space between what we see and what we feel.

Turrell reminds us that sometimes the most extraordinary thing to experience is not an object, but light, space, and the act of seeing itself.

A beautiful encounter with contemporary art at ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. 🌈✨

Stepping into Den Gamle By in Aarhus feels like stepping through a portal in time. ✨

A living, breathing portrait of Danish history, where streets, homes, shops, gardens, and everyday objects recreate life across different eras — not as a static museum, but as a world you can wander through.

As a designer, I loved discovering the details: the architecture, the interiors, the craftsmanship, the colors, the typography, and all those small objects that tell us how people actually lived.

There is something deeply inspiring about seeing design outside of its own time — understanding how materials, proportions, rituals, and aesthetics evolve, while certain ideas remain beautifully timeless.

A little journey through Denmark’s past, and a reminder that good design always tells a story. 🇩🇰

A lesson in Danish design. 🇩🇰

A visit to Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen is a reminder that great design is not simply about how something looks—it is about how deeply it understands the human experience.

Here, generations of Danish masters appear almost like a constellation: Finn Juhl, Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Børge Mogensen, Poul Kjærholm, Poul Henningsen, Nanna Ditzel, Kay Bojesen, Erik Herløw, Verner Panton and so many others.

What connects them is not a single aesthetic, but a way of thinking: simplicity without austerity, functionality without sacrificing beauty, craftsmanship without excess.

Wood, light, proportion, texture and the human body become the vocabulary.

Danish Modern taught the world that a chair could be a sculpture, a lamp could transform a room, and an everyday object could carry poetry.

As a designer, I find something deeply inspiring in this philosophy—the belief that good design doesn’t need to shout. It simply needs to be considered.

Copenhagen continues to remind me why design is, above all, a way of seeing. 🤍

Some evenings feel less like an event and more like stepping into a dream. ✨

We feel deeply grateful to have been invited to the opening of the Remedios Varo solo exhibition at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Denmark.

To wander through Varo’s enchanted universe — where alchemy, science, mysticism, and imagination seem to exist in the same dimension — was truly mesmerizing. Her paintings feel like little portals into worlds that are both ancient and entirely unknown.

And then, as if the evening had been lifted from one of her paintings, we gathered around a beautiful table for an exquisite dinner, accompanied by wonderful wines and the most delightful company.

A night of art, dreams, deliciousness, and a little bit of magic in Denmark. 🇩🇰✨

A monumental wood table becomes the heart of the space, surrounded by woven rattan seating, handmade ceramic vessels, and sculptural pendant lights that create an intimate canopy overhead.

We love the dialogue between natural materials, craftsmanship, and landscape — where every texture feels connected to its surroundings.

The result is relaxed, sophisticated, and unmistakably warm: a space that doesn’t try too hard, but invites you to stay a little longer.

Good design isn’t only what you see.
