Tatami... 🇯🇵

"Wash*tu" meaning 'Japanese-style room', aka 'tatami room' in English; is a Japanese room with traditional tatami mat or floor.

The term tatami is derived from the verb "tatamu", meaning 'to fold' or 'to pile'. This indicates that early tatami were thin which were made from "igusa" (grass or rice straws), and they could be folded up or piled in layers when not in used.

Raised tatami floors is largely related to Japan's climate. A typical japanese house has a raised floor to allow air circulation to cope with high temperatures and humidity especially in summer, and in winter tatami itself insulates low temperatures coming up from underneath since it was made of a low thermal conductive material.
Other than climate probability a raised tatami floor can creates storage, as well as divides areas like "genkan" at most entries of japanese houses, hence guests customarily take off shoes before stepping in a tatami area.

Rahim (aka TopGun) Kitchen.

Shaker style cabinet doors, as well as drawers, can be traced back in the 18th century. Originated from Manchester, flourished in America settlements.
It is always aesthetically pleasing to adapt in kitchens.
Traditionally these carpentry doors were made of birch, cherry, pine, maple and oak trees; and commonly finish-coated with white paint or oil to maintain the grains of wood.
Nowadays with different tools and materials, shaker style can be made from lamination method with prefer finishes or colors.
