Fresh Ylang-Ylang Tea: A Gentle Cup from the Garden
When friends visit, I love welcoming them with a pot of fresh ylang-ylang tea, made with flowers picked straight from the garden.
Ylang-ylang has long been cherished across Southeast Asia for its beautifully calming floral fragrance. As a warm floral infusion, it offers a naturally caffeine-free drink with a delicate aroma that gently refreshes the senses and invites us to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the company of those around us.
Sweetened with a touch of local kelulut honey, every cup celebrates the simple beauty of our local flowers.
Simple to prepare
• Pluck fresh ylang-ylang flowers from the garden.
• Soak them in a vegetable wash and rinse thoroughly.
• Pat dry and gently separate the petals.
• Add the petals to a pot with a spoonful of local kelulut honey.
• Pour in hot water, allow it to simmer gently for a few minutes, then serve warm.
Sometimes, the simplest things—a flower from the garden, warm water, a touch of honey, and good company—are enough to make a moment feel special.
At YouZenAn, we believe our local flowers are more than beautiful. They carry stories, heritage, and a gentle reminder to return to nature, and to ourselves.
