Introducing Ceria Seconds 💚

Not quite perfect, but too good not to share.

We have a small batch of mugs that didn’t quite pass our usual QC - some have glaze imperfections, slightly different colour tinges, and other small cosmetic flaws. They’re still fully functional, they just look a little different from our usual pieces.

So instead of letting them go to waste, we’re putting them up for grabs at a special Seconds price 🫶

There’s only one of each piece, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.

A little care goes a long way 🌿

Our placemats are made from natural jute fibres, which means they require a little different care compared to synthetic materials. While it may be tempting to toss them into the washing machine, excess moisture can cause the fibres to weaken, lose their shape, or warp over time.

For spills and stains, simply spot clean with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap, then allow it to air dry completely 🤎

A little care goes a long way 🌿

A little extra care goes a long way with handmade ceramics 🧼

Because each piece is hand-painted and handmade, slight variations and imperfections are part of their charm - but gentle care helps preserve the glaze and details over time.

A soft sponge, mild detergent like the dishwash and a slow drying moment is all they really need 🧽

A little glimpse into the R&D process behind Ceria Haus ⭐️

One thing about working with handmade and hand-painted ceramics is accepting that no two pieces will ever be perfectly identical - and that’s part of the charm. We’re not looking for factory perfection. Slight variations in brush strokes, shape and texture are what make each piece feel human and handcrafted

That being said, colour, glazing and overall finish still need to feel consistent and aligned with the Ceria Haus design direction. A lot of our QC process actually revolves around making sure the pieces still reflect the palette, softness and feel we envisioned from the start.

Some of the mugs and saucer sets shown here were actually render concepts and illustrations we composed digitally to explore colour combinations and design directions. While some of them were very well received on social media, the actual colours and glaze outcomes during the sampling process didn’t translate the way we had hoped in real life. Instead of rushing them into production, we decided to KIV a few of the designs and revisit them at a later stage when they feel more aligned with the collection 🤎

Sometimes the process is less about creating something perfect, and more about creating something that still feels intentional.
