My Italian salad is not for sale. I just love to share the joy, and if you are up to making it yourself for your loved ones, please go ahead and try it out. Here is my recipe:
Ingredients:
Canola oil
Extrawurst / Lyoner
Peas
Pickles
Salt
Pepper
Mustard
Lime juice
One whole egg
Maggi
I use one whole egg because the risk of the mayo breaking is less.
Start mixing the egg together with the canola oil at medium speed. Add little by little oil and keep mixing and adding until the mayo becomes thicker. Add salt, pepper, mustard, Maggi, and lime juice to your liking. Taste from time to time. Once you are happy with the taste and the mayo has a good texture, add all other ingredients slowly and gently. I normally use about 750 ml of canola oil; that makes a nice portion for the whole family, lasting over the holidays.
