A lovely morning hosting our terrarium workshop with .my 🌿

Grateful to be invited back for another session, it’s always a pleasure working with teams who enjoy hands-on crafting with plants.

Thank you for having us again.

I like exploring all kinds of plants, even the small weeds growing by the roadside.

Sometimes, given the right place and conditions, the most overlooked plants can reveal a different kind of beauty.

Having a large paludarium in a space is an enjoyment.

The sound of water moving, the slow rhythm of fish, and the small details you begin to notice over time.

It’s not overwhelming, just a subtle shift in atmosphere, like stepping slightly closer to a forest, without leaving the room.

Light is always the starting point.

When designing indoor landscapes, what looks bright isn’t always enough. The further the light source is, the more it gets weakened before reaching the plants.

We use a lux meter as a quick reference, but lux only measures brightness. Plants respond to light in more ways than just brightness, but lux gives us a simple and practical starting point.

For most low-light plants, around 3000 lux can be enough to survive, but good growth always requires more than just "enough".

Lighting and water are everything.

In indoor living landscapes, good lighting allows plants to grow, but how water moves through the space is what keeps the system truly alive.

Watering is not simply about installing a system and letting it spray. It requires planning, where the water starts, how it travels, and how to achieve full coverage without spilling beyond the space.

Thank you for having us conduct a workshop in celebration of International Women’s Day at Beiersdorf Malaysia.

It was a wonderful session where participants explored the process of building their own terrariums, learning about plant care while creating something meaningful by hand.

Hidden Cascade

This design focuses on the meeting of three materials, wood, stone and glass.

The idea was inspired by a certain architectural approach, where existing rock formations are not removed or hidden, but instead become part of the structure itself.

Here, the stone forms the terrain and spatial core, while wood frames the structure and glass opens a quiet window into the scene.

Although the rocks here are man-made, the intention was to treat them as if they were already there, allowing the design to grow around them rather than avoiding them.

Before plants, before water, just the raw relationship between material, space and light.
