Segment Sentuhan Decor Bersama Listerine. TV3
For the Listerine Lucky Winner. The main issue revolves around the color combination used by the homeowner - purple for the walls and a darker tone for the ceiling, making the space appear less harmonious.
The living area is connected to the dining area (which serves as a multipurpose space). Yes, the ceiling actually collapsed during a storm on our first visit, but by the time of the shoot, the owner had installed a new one, albeit in a dark brown color.
Although the focus is mainly on the living area, we suggest painting the walls, repainting the ceiling white, and extending the full flooring from the living to the dining area.
In the main living area, we incorporated some color patterns. It's essential to carefully select colors for a TV makeover since they may appear different on camera and screens compared to in person. Opting for bright colors, we played with some basic color contrasts to create the desired effect on screen.
The final result reflects a Japandi concept which suits Malaysians well due to its earthy tones (as previously mentioned). Vertical illusion techniques were heavily utilized on curtains, wall decor, floor lamps, and accessories to create a taller-looking space.
Why aim for a taller appearance? Given the limited space, we employ perspective tricks to make the room seem more spacious both vertically and horizontally. Tall table lamps, tall vases, and vertical decorative elements like branches and potted plants reaching up to the ceiling create a sense of height.
Floor lamps also contribute to the illusion of height, while elongated wall decor with minimal patterns helps balance and enhance your space.
