Some of the finest advice I ever received was, before buying something new because you need a change, first go shopping in your own home. Admittedly, having a lifelong love of styling, I have some knick knacks and whatsits galore. Nonetheless, when you’re on a budget, have a look around first before shooting out the door. Put all your decor ‘bits’ on the dining room table. Go put on some lipstick (or anything that brings you equal joy) and look at where else something could work in your home. Candle sticks, sculptures, framed photos, plants… Just have some fun with it. Go pick a stokkie from your garden and gooi it in a vase. Just. Have. Fun.
